Summary
Society friendship
Comments. Opinion
One important element of friendship in high society has to do with reactions to confl ict situations. As experience tends to show, they always happen, one way or another. It’s not hard to remember the recent unpleasantness which Ulyana Sergeenko and Miroslava Duma got into: that very same “N-word” scandal. Here, the most interesting part is the reaction from in the community to which the two fashionistas belong. Nasiba Adilova, an acquaintance and business partner of Senator Vasily Duma’s daughter, aggressively and publicly excluded Miroslava from the board of directors for The Tot, an online shop – and, as it would seem, from her own life as well.
The Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre
Comments. Reportage
Actually, there’s not as much of a fuss over these productions as there could be. Still, stones are being thrown at the boldest and most camera-friendly directors, Konstantin Bogomolov and Kirill Serebrennikov. The latter got it fi rst: fi ve years ago, the State Duma’s morals commision got the idea to check the preview performances of “The Pillowman” for signs of pedophilia. The director was summoned by the Investigative Committee for question, but the scandal stopped there.
The Investigative Committee has yet to call up Konstantin Bogomolov, but he didn’t get away unscathed. “The Ideal Husband,” with its half-naked crucifi ed actress onstage – her pose has since been changed – offended Orthodox activists to the core.
